The shape that gets children to finish the bowl. Osem Stars are the same toasted ptitim pasta as the pearls, pressed into tiny stars that cook in minutes and come out golden, springy and gently nutty. They catch sauce in every point, which is exactly why they work so well.
Butter and a pinch of salt is all most kids want. For everyone else they are excellent stirred into chicken soup, tossed with roasted vegetables and lemon, or fried with onion until toasty and simmered in stock the traditional way. They also make a lovely base for a warm salad.
